
Agra News : In a case of seizure of ganja in Malpura police station area of Agra, the court convicted the five arrested accused. He was accused of smuggling and selling marijuana. All were sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10 lakh.
Special Judge NDPS Act Gyanendra Rao found guilty Chandramohan, resident of Sikandra Awas Vikas Colony, Malkhan alias Cheeku, Satyadev alias Bhagat Singh, resident of village Bans Risal, Khandauli, Bijendra Singh, resident of Khandauli, Birender Singh, resident of Ishapur village, Bulandshahar. STF Inspector Hukum Singh had registered the case in Malpura police station.
According to the case, Inspector Hukum Singh was on patrol on 2 August 2022 along with SI Dhoom Singh and other policemen. Information about drug smuggling was received from STF Lucknow unit. Reached the Malpura-Kagaraul road with the force. Malpura police along with the police station chief were called. A car appeared parked under the bridge. The persons present in it were waiting for a truck carrying ganja from Odisha.
On the arrival of the truck, the police laid siege and arrested all the accused including the truck. 109 kg 200 grams of ganja, truck, a Hyundai or other car, mobile, cash were recovered from the possession and sent to jail under NDPS Act against the accused. Special Judge NDPS Act Gyanendra Rao held the accused guilty on the basis of the evidence available on file and the arguments of Public Prosecutor Vinayak Vashishtha.
